I hope you are not here to buy stuff because I don't sell anything. I just like to show off random stuff I have created. Mainly photos, some are digital but my main passion is analogue. Everything else is pretty random. Including my job, which is Software testing. I didn't even know you can get paid to break stuff for a living until 2020 when I was offered this job. I enjoy it so much I actually got a certificate in 2022 to prove that I know what I am doing!
More info I'd like to share? sure... I am a dutch/frisian national who moved to the UK in 2019. I was born in 1972, but the first 40 years of my life I consider mostly practise. After that life became proper interesting due to a string of bizzare events, some a bit more traumatic than others. Overall I am now in a very good place. Funny how age and prozac can make you a better person.
I started getting interested in digital photography around 2001 and eventually also learned some proper editing. I took lots of photos of my pets and at music gigs but I mostly enjoyed macro photograpy. I take lots of photos with my smart phone nowadays. My Pentax K7 still gets the occasional outing but I prefer analogue anyway.
Around 2010 I got interested in analogue photography and after a generous donation of about 80 old cameras I became properly hooked. After lots of experimenting and failure I now have a small collection of cameras and use about 10 of those on a regular basis. I also learned to develop film and although I enjoyed it I decided it's too much of a hassle, for now.
I don't have an excuse for this, other than that it's cheaper than therapy to randomly apply paper and glue to random objects. I like crafting, in general, and this makes me turn of my brain and get messy, with varying results. But it works.
In 2015 poet Graaf van Medwert (Mark Spijkers) asked if I could provide the visuals for his words. It turned out to be great project which resulted in a wonderful collection of poems that took the world by storm. Or maybe just a humble amount of friends and family. In 2017 I self published a book that I made in collaboration with illustrator Mich Hodler.
It was an idea that had been brewing in my brain for years, and with Mich's, equally as mental, input, we turned it into
a tangible book within 6 months.
I will also put a link to this on the contact page.
